I'm looking mostly at used Kubotas & JDs for 'hogging, hauling, & loader work (smallish trees & largish shrubs) on 13 acres of pasture. Three under consideration so far. FIRST: B2400, 4wd, hydrostatic, loader, belly mower, 3-yrs-old/178 hrs., bar turf tires, pwr steering, 24/18pto hp. At 1325 lbs. it seems kind of light. Asking $13,500. SECOND: L2400, 4-yrs-old/1298 hrs., 4wd, glideshift, ind. pto, pwr steering, canopy, industrial tires, loader w/7" bucket(?) w/toothbar, 42/37pto hp, 2930 lbs. dry. THIRD: A new L2500, 25/20pto hp, 8x2 manual, pwr steering, loader, ag tires, 4wd, "not very heavy," $14,500. Any wisdom about these models--and, of course, the prices--for a grateful novice?

Kieth, I suggest you decide which style/series tractor will meet your goals. B vs LB - hydrastatic trans, easy on/off, LOW UNCLEARANCE, limited traction, live pto, user freindly (safer) for inexperienced operators, ladies, and teens.L - not a flat operators deck, better visibilty, more traction, more underclearance, not live pto but MORE actual tough work abilityThis is the first choice you need to make, then the other isues will fall into place. B2400 and L2500... are priced as excellent values, especially if you have bargained for WARRANTY. TELL ME MORE ABOUT THE L2400. "This is a new one for me."good luck, steve ....
